Thanks to the poor state of the economy I got a new manager at work today.
The position that my manager filled until yesterday no longer exists. Now my group has been rolled in under a different manager.
I'm not happy.
It's not that I don't like the change. I rather like the person that is now my manager. And the change even makes sense from a business perspective
The problem is that I feel so bad for my previous manager. This is a terrible time to need to find a job. And even though I didn't know him well, he really seemed like a good guy, and I hate to see things like this happen to people and know that there was nothing they could do about it. By all accounts he was doing a fine job. But the poor economy.... THE GREED OF PEOPLE WHO WERE ALREADY WEALTHY!!!! has robbed him of his job.
I'm really just angry.
The government that should have been watching out for us all divested itself of responsibility and failed us all. It let the greedy and the wealthy dictate the rules and now we all get to suffer.
It really is maddening.

Or, you could lose your job because of your union. I only blame the government a little because mine was a government job...however since my job is still there but I didn't have the seniority to keep it....
